I am so saddened to learn of the death of Darrell Hill . He was a great plein air painter and a true source of
inspiration for me. He had such a unique style, and in spite of his
success, was so humble. I never went to Hawaii without stopping in to
visit him. RIP Darrell. You will live on in our memories always.

Darrell Maurice Hill, 71, of Waimea, Hawaii, an Army veteran and an
artist, died. He was born in Hillsboro, Ill. He is survived by
wife Patricia, daughters Amee Cooper and Erin McCullough, brother Carlos
and two grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St.
Juvenaly Mission Church, at Palani Road and Mamalahoa Highway,
Kailua-Kona. Graveside services to follow at West Hawaii Veterans

Oh, this is so sad, I am painting and listening to his interview on the AHA blog. So I googled his name to see his art and found your post .He has inspired so many people x
